Cool air dragged the scent of the salt water as you lit up a spliff. You were sitting near the ocean, just relaxing. Well, more like contemplating woe. You enjoyed the isolation at this time of day, seeing how not many people were around the area, yet.

College was stressing you out for some reason. Well, it wasn’t actually that; it was her. The girl who enjoys messing with your head and it was frustrating. You weren’t the one into those little games, but yet you were persistent. Why? Nobody really knows, honestly.

“You know that’s not a healthy habit.” You turned your head to see her. Her of all people needed to come here to bug you? Shrugging, you took another drag on the spliff, before replying. Just to piss her off, or at least to pretend it pissed her off. Considering, you knew she was just kidding around right now.

“Oh, be quiet. I didn’t come here just to be followed and nagged.” The redheaded girl sat next to you and held out her hand. “Give it to me, now.” Her red eyes narrowed at your smirking.

“What if I don’t give it?” Amelia —or Lia, as she likes to be called— shook her head and sighed. Curious to what her next move was, you simply continued to smoke. However, that was until the tanned girl pushed you into the water.

It was cold and when the word cold is used, it’s meant as freezing. “Holy fucking shit! Why’d ya do that, Lia?” You coughed a little bit as you spit the gross salt water out of your mouth. You looked up and saw Amelia laughing hysterically.

“You should’ve seen your reaction! Shit was priceless, bae.”  Growling to yourself, you reached up and pulled her down into the water with you. Now, that was hilarious. After she got most of the water from her mouth, she swam next to you and whacked your head.

“Ugh, what was that for?” The girl glared at you and muttered, “For pulling me in, jackass.”

A grin now painted itself on your face, which made Lia confused. “Hey, why are you smil—” You cut her off by pressing your now-wet lips to hers. Once you pulled away, you both just stared at each other. Until, the awkward silence got to you, anyway.

“I know you’ll most likely beat the shit out of me when we get out of here, but I just wanna tell you that I like you.”

“I know you like me, idiot, that’s why we’re friend—”
You cut her off by sighing. “I like you as more than a friend, stupid.” To her dismay, you saw her actually blush. Which, due to your teasing nature, it caused you to say: “Aw, my little Lia is blushing! So cute…”

That earned you another whack on the head, but this time, Amelia smiled and replied with:
“I like you like that, too, [Name].”
